This is a port city in the state of Maharashtra. This is located on the banks of the Arabian Sea. The east of the town is bordered by the Sahyadri Mountains. The town has the average elevation of 11 metres or 36 feet from the sea line. The census of 2012 says that the town has the population or approximately 76,239 and the ratio of the male and female is about 11:9.
